We stand on the brink of the fourth Industrial revolution, a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. By 2022, this revolution would bring advanced robotics and autonomous transport, artificial intelligence and machine learning, biotechnology and genomics in our everyday lives. As a result, some jobs will disappear, others will grow and jobs that don’t even exist today will become commonplace. We do not yet know just how it will unfold, but one thing is clear. We need to equip our students with skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving that can gear today’s students for tomorrow’s workforce.
Schools need a futuristic curriculum in Robotics and Internet of Things (IOT) to engage students in STEM pathways. The Arduino Coding Curriculum will familiarize students to the exciting world of STEM applications using electronic circuit, mechanical structure and the applications of various sensors. This curriculum will introduce your child to the world of syntax-based coding (Arduino IED) to create simple scientific experiments and robots. Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. The curriculum provides an experiential learning environment where children tinker with hardware & software and learn with the help of guided circuit, locomotion and automation experiments.
The Arduino Coding curriculum is available in 3 levels starting Grade 5 students. The prerequisite for the curriculum is an understanding of basic coding concepts such as variables, loops, and control structures.
It has always been my dream to see technology becoming an integral part of a teacher's life inside the classrooms. The smartclass program implemented in our schools has indeed been like a dream come true.
The modules are both informative and enjoyable and it has enhanced the teaching and learning process.
The teaching methodology has transformed from an orthodox, laborious method of verbal explanation to a very interactive and graphical presentation, making teaching more interesting to the teachers and learning easy and enjoyable for the students.
